Quick Review: Leatherman Style CS

I disagree with this post on GearWeAre.com; if you’re searching for a multitool for general camping tasks then you could do a lot worse than the Style CS.

It features a robust stainless steel and nylon chassis. The spring-loaded scissors are reasonably sharp, making them feel quite responsive in the hand and ideal for opening packets. The single blade is a 4.06cm chisel-ground 420HC number, which comes really sharp and makes light work of cured meat products and will happily eat its way through 550 paracord. Other tools are a nail file/screwdriver, a pair of tweezers and a bottle opener/karabiner. Weighing just 42g you barely notice it.

Of course, you’re not going to be chopping firewood or gutting 10lb salmon with it but for most ‘around the tent’ and personal admin tasks the Style CS is pretty much spot on.
